Have you always wanted to set up your own blog, but weren’t quite sure how to do it?
Here is a step by step guide to setting up your first blog.
What you will need:-
1. Domain Name – NameCheap
2. Hosting with cPanel – Hostgator – (Use the coupon code jury to get the baby account for only 1c for the first month)
3. About 10 minutes of free time!
Once you have the above you are ready to go:-
Step 1 - Log into your cpanel account, which will be at yourdomain.com/cpanel use the username and password that was sent to you when you opened your hosting account.
Step 2 - Scroll down until you see Software/Services, then click on Fantastico De Luxe

Step 3 - In the left hand navigation bar click on WordPress

Step 4 - Click on New Installation
Step 5 – Installation Location – The first thing you need to do is choose the domain that you want to install WordPress onto, (Install Domain) you can click on the dropdown arrow if you have more than 1 domain on your hosting. If you want to install WordPress into a different directory you can enter the directory name (Install In Directory) if you want to install WordPress in the root (ie yourdomain.com) then leave this field blank.
Admin Access Data – Administrator Username, here you can choose your login name, it is best not to use Admin, I always use my name here or you can use the name of your site. Then you can choose your password, for security reasons it is best to use a mixture of upper and lower case letters (or get a really strong password from Strong Password Generator)
Base Configuration - Your Admin Nickname is the name that will show when you made your blog posts, Admin Email will be the main contact email for your site, Site Name & Description will show at the top of your blog on some themes, these can be changed or removed from the dashboard later.
Then click Install WordPress
Step 6 - You will then see the screen below showing your installation details, just click Finish Installation

Step 7 - Congratulations! Your blog is now installed, you can have the details emailed to you or go straight to your site and start blogging!
